Taking a “Year In Industry”

Are you thinking about taking a break between your A levels and starting your degree course but want to do something worthwhile rather than stacking shelves at the local supermarket? Taking a Year in Industry could be just what you need!

The scheme can help you to find a work placement in a company specialising in engineering, software or science where you will receive a minimum salary of £150 per week.

Invariably, university admissions tutors welcome this type of industrial placement and will be pleased to defer the start of your degree course for one year. In addition, throughout your year in industry you will attend a number of business awareness courses designed to develop and extend your personal skills and experience. You will also be allocated an industrial tutor to help you settle in and get the most from your work experience.
